Jonathan Orns has been promoted from the rank of Sergeant for the Search and Rescue Team to the rank of Lieutenant with responsibilities over the Field Operations Division of the Operations Team. Orns developed a well trained, highly respected Search and Rescue Team during his tenure as the team's Sergeant and will build upon that success under his broader focus as the Lieutenant of Field Operations. In his capacity as the Lieutenant of Field Operations, Lieutenant Orns will serve as the coordinating officer for all field operations (severe weather, winter weather, damage assessment, communications, mass casualty incidents, incident management services, search and rescue, and lighting and power).

Chief of Operations Eric Hodges announced Orns’ promotion Thursday evening. The promotion is effective immediately.
