Redesigned MCI shelvingMcLean County EMA Operations Team staff members recently completed a redesign of the agency's Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) trailer. Overhauled from the ground up, the design includes new shelving, better organization of medical assets, and more robust access to equipment in priority order. Probationary Officer Smith spearheaded the work by developing an overall proposal, drafting sketches of the new layout, purchasing the necessary materials, constructing the shelves and applying the paint, and re-stocking the trailer. Numerous EMA staff members contributed in various ways to the success of the project. Additionally, Chief Hodges and Corporal Rutherford ordered and installed new emergency warning lights on the back of the trailer to assist with the visibility of the asset as it is en-route to or on the scene of an emergency.

The McLean County EMA hopes to offer regular tours of the trailer to help raise awareness among EMS providers throughout the community by integrating the trailer into the McLean County Area EMS Office's MCI training course.
