McLean County EMA Sergeant Trickett receives Volunteer of the Year award from IESMA

Sergeant Trickett and Director HawkOn Friday, April 16th, McLean County EMA Sergeant Alex Trickett was given the statewide Volunteer of the Year award by the Illinois Emergency Services Management Association (IESMA). In talking about what the award committee looks for when determining a recipient, IESMA committee chair Ron McDermott shared characteristics such as passion, being a quick learner, leadership, professionalism, and integrity as some of the highlights that the committee seeks out. McLean County EMA Director and IESMA Region 7 Vice-President Curtis Hawk submitted Sergeant Trickett's name for consideration and said that [sic], "when I was reviewing the characteristics of what the committee looks for in people who receive this award, Alex's work stood out to me as fitting just that."

Sergeant Trickett began his service with the McLean County EMA on the Search and Rescue Team in 2007 and joined the Operations Team one month later. He was appointed to the rank of Acting Sergeant in March 2009 over the Search and Rescue Team and successfully led the team in both training sessions and high-profile missions. Trickett was promoted to the rank of Sergeant over the Search and Rescue Team in September 2009 where he still serves as the team's commander today.
