On Thursday, September 24th, Alex Trickett was officially promoted to the rank of Sergeant by Chief Hodges. Trickett has been serving as the Acting Sergeant for the Search and Rescue team since his appointment to the position in March, 2009. Since assuming leadership of the SAR team, Trickett has continued to successfully lead the team in training exercises and drills and recently supervised the team in the high-profile Beason homicide evidence search. He has fostered and maintained relationships across the State of Illinois with other SAR team leaders and search managers as well as officials in other public safety disciplines. Sergeant Trickett will continue to serve as the commander of the Search and Rescue team and as a Command Staff member of the Operations Team reporting to Lieutenant Orns. He is a certified Search Manager and Technical Search Planner, holds his First Responder - Defibrillator license with the State of Illinois, and has completed the FEMA Professional Development Series training curriculum.
