Unit Number: EM-16 A Sergeant either supervises a defined team or supervises an ad-hoc group in support of a given task. A Sergeant will usually supervise between three and seven staff (Corporals/Officers) and will directly carry out an operation’s functional objectives. In short, a Sergeant and his/her staff ensures the job gets done. A Sergeant reports to either a Lieutenant or the Deputy Chief. Sergeant Trickett supervises the Search and Rescue team and is responsible for its training and staffing. As the team's commander, Sergeant Trickett prepares monthly training, develops and maintains a budget in conjunction with the Lieutenant of Field Operations, and serves on the Central Illinois SAR Council. Sergeant Trickett serves as the Ground Search and Water Search team leader in events in which McLean County EMA is the primary search team and as a search specialist in multi-agency search incidents. |
