A Probationary Officer is an individual who has joined the McLean County EMA Operations Team but has not yet been promoted to the rank of Officer. Probationary Officers must complete a rigorous Probation Program that includes classroom and field-level training, must demonstrate their skills through drills and incident response, and must secure Command Staff sponsorship before being considered ready for promotion to the rank of Officer. Probationary Officers are not considered to be full members of the McLean County EMA Operations Team.
