McLean County EMA Operations Branch 2012 Annual ReportThe McLean County Emergency Management Agency's Operations Branch has released its 2012 Annual Report. The publication provides an overview of the McLean County EMA, highlights training and public service events, recognizes staff for promotions and commendations, and details field operations and search and rescue deployments in 2012.

The process of developing an Annual Report began in 2007. The hope is that the information contained within this report is valuable, timely, and promotes an atmosphere of confidence in the work that the Operations Branch, alongside other public safety and private agencies, strives to achieve. As the numbers will reflect in this report, the Operations Branch is an extremely dedicated group of volunteers who desire to ensure the public's safety and to ensure that the citizens of McLean County mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural and man-made emergencies. The branch's efforts remain guided by the importance of education, training, strong inter-agency partnerships, and community service.

2013 GSAR Team ISARC Re-ValidationThe McLean County EMA Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) Team received its re-validation from the Illinois Search and Rescue Council (ISARC) on Saturday, March 23, 2013. The team successfully completed the land navigation portion to earn its validation which will remain in place until 2016. Validation with the ISARC is a process by which established teams demonstrate measured competency in the mechanics of wilderness search and rescue by executing an efficiency search and completing a land navigation course. Teams that pursue and receive validation are recognized by the council as a vetted search and rescue organization which can be called upon for deployments throughout the State of Illinois.
